Amazon Planning To Cut As Many As 30,000 Corporate Jobs Starting This Week
Heads up…?
According to business insiders, #Amazon is preparing to cut as many as 30,000 corporate jobs beginning this week, marking its largest round of corporate layoffs since late 2022.
The cuts are expected to hit areas like human resources, devices & services, and operations, affecting nearly 10 % of Amazon’s roughly 350,000-member corporate workforce. This move comes as the company works to rein in costs, scale down #pandemic-era overhiring, and deploy artificial-intelligence tools to drive efficiency.
While Amazon’s spokesperson has declined to comment on the matter, managers overseeing the impacted teams reportedly received training today (Oct. 27) to prepare them for delivering the news to employees. According to sources, email notifications informing staff of the layoffs are expected to start going out early tomorrow morning.
