Patriots Star Stefon Diggs’ Former Chef Claims He Slapped & Choked Her During Dispute Over
Unpaid Wages
More information has surfaced on the felony charge of strangulation and the misdemeanor charge of a$$ault that #StefonDiggs is facing.
A former personal chef for the New England Patriots receiver is the person alleging that Diggs hit her and attempted to choke her during a dispute over unpaid wages. The woman says the encounter happened on Dec. 2, when Diggs entered her unlocked bedroom to talk about money she believed she was owed. According to TMZ, she claims Diggs smacked her and then “tried to choke her using the crook of his elbow around her neck,” adding that she felt like she “could have blacked out” as he tightened his grip. Afterward, she says Diggs threw her onto the bed and said, “Thought so.” She also told authorities he responded “Lies” when she tried to make a plea for the unpaid salary before exiting her room.
The woman reportedly began working for Diggs in July and was supposed to be paid weekly, but her pay schedule was changed to monthly, leaving her without a full month’s pay at the time of the alleged incident.
Diggs’ attorney, David Meier, pushed back strongly in a statement, calling the accusations “unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated — because they did not occur.” Meier added, “The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employee?employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee’s satisfaction.”
Diggs is due back in court on Jan. 23.
