Chingy Admits Sidney Starr Dating Rumor Made Him Want To Stop Taking Photos w/ LGBTQ Fans
A past rumor continues to shape how Chingy navigates fan interactions years later.
The St. Louis rapper recently opened up about the lingering impact of a viral photo he took in 2010 with transgender media personality Sidney Starr, who later claimed they were romantically involved. Starr ultimately walked back the allegation in 2012, but Chingy said the damage had already been done.
Speaking on “Willie D Live,” he explained how the situation shifted his perspective.
“Somebody took a picture of me being nice to a fan who came up and was excited to meet me,” Chingy said, adding, “And they based the two-year relationship line off of that.”
He admitted, “I was going to stop taking picture with homosexual individuals. And nothing against them, but I thought now I thought like that’s what they going to do.” However, he later reconsidered. “I ain’t going to stop being me because somebody decides to be evil. That’s going to come back on them at some point,” he said.
If you recall, Sidney came clean and admitted the two never dated, though the damage was seemingly done in terms of Chingy’s career.
