Gervonta “Tank” Davis Bonds Out After Miami Arrest, Lawyer Savs Boxer Is ‘Victim’
Boxing star Gervonta “Tank” Davis walked out of a Miami-Dade County jail Thursday after posting bond following his arrest on serious criminal charges, including attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment and battery.
Davis, 31, was taken into custody Wednesday by a fugitive task force in Miami’s Design District after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with an alleged incident that took place in late October 2025 at a Miami Gardens venue.
His attorney, Simon Steckel, wasted no time pushing back on the accusations, calling his client “actually a victim” and promising to expose a “shocking narrative” in court that will go beyond the initial charges. The boxer entered a bond hearing via video appearance, during which a judge set his release and ordered strict conditions, including a no-contact directive with the alleged victim.
According to police and court filings, the alleged victim claims Davis grabbed her by the hair and throat and dragged her outside the establishment during the October incident — allegations that now form the basis for multiple felony counts.
This isn’t Davis’ first run-in with law enforcement — he’s faced other legal issues in South Florida, including a 2025 domestic violence arrest that was later dropped. The boxer has also seen major career impacts tied to his legal troubles: a scheduled fight with Jake Paul was scrapped after related lawsuits surfaced.
For now, Davis remains out on bond as the case heads toward what could be a lengthy and highly scrutinized legal battle — one that could have implications for both his personal life and career inside the ring.
