[Update]: NFL Star Patrick Mahomes’ Father Ordered To Stay In Jail Until March + Prosecutors Push For 10-Year Prison Sentence After Probation Violation

A Texas judge has ordered Patrick Mahomes Sr. to remain behind bars until his next court appearance as prosecutors push for a lengthy prison sentence tied to an alleged probation violation.

The 55-year-old former MLB pitcher, and father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was booked into the Smith County Jail earlier this week and is being held without bond ahead of a March hearing. Prosecutors are seeking up to 10 years in prison, arguing Mahomes Sr. violated the terms of his probation related to a 2024 DWI conviction.

According to court records, Mahomes Sr. was serving five years’ probation when his probation officer was alerted to a high reading on his SCRAM alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet on January 1. Authorities also allege he failed to complete community service at the required rate of three hours per month for several months.

The probation violation report states Mahomes Sr. later submitted urine tests on January 5 and January 9, both of which reportedly came back negative for alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 9, when a judge will decide whether his probation will be revoked.

Do you think he’ll actually do 10 years in prison?
