Cardi B Allegedly Went Off During “SNL” Rehearsal, Threatening To Leave Show & Breaking A Production Screen, Over Nicki Minaj Joke
It’s clear that #CardiB wants nothing to do with Nicki Minaj.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper was recently a musical guest for the comedy show’s 1,000th episode. However, according to TMZ, the performance was nearly canceled as Cardi allegedly threatened to walk out over a joke regarding her long-time nemesis, #NickiMinaj. Insiders told the outlet that Cardi overheard the Weekend Update anchors running a joke about Nicki’s new MAGA affiliation and blew up. While the joke wasn’t directed at her, Cardi allegedly became upset due to the ongoing tension she has with Nicki, including Nicki’s comments about her kids online.
Sources claimed Cardi warned she’d leave and reportedly threw her phone at a monitor backstage. It’s also alleged that she stormed into the producers’ office and punched a screen until it broke, forcing the team to replace it before dress rehearsal could start. The outburst allegedly left everyone on set nervous, but the joke was removed from the script.
