Kimora Lee Simmons Reveals She Hasn’t Spoken To Tyra Banks ‘In A Very Long Time’ Despite Starting ‘Top Model’ Together
Fashion mogul Kimora Lee Simmons is opening up about her absence from the latest “America’s Next Top Model” documentary while also shedding light on her strained relationship with Tyra Banks.
During a recent podcast appearance, Simmons revealed she was never invited to participate in the project, despite playing a key role in the show’s early success.
“I don’t know why I wasn’t part of the doc,” she said, reflecting on her time as a judge alongside Banks.
Simmons also shared that her once-close bond with Banks has faded over the years.
“And Tyra is one of my kids’ godmothers, as well. Although we haven’t talked in a very long time,” she explained. “We used to be very, very close. I started Top Model with her.”
The documentary revisits controversies tied to the long-running series, and Simmons didn’t shy away from confirming some of the criticism.
“It was a crazy moment in time… were true. Were very true. Treacherous moments, with models,” she said.
Despite being left out, Simmons hinted she may still revisit the franchise, adding “maybe in the future” when asked about returning.
What are your thoughts on the strained friendship?
