Mimi Faust Says Not Planning For Life After Reality Television Was Her ‘Biggest Mistake’
Former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Mimi Faust is reflecting on the financial realities of reality TV, and says failing to prepare for life after the show remains her biggest regret.
During a candid appearance on Angela Yee’s “Lip Service” podcast, Faust admitted she was so focused on the moment that she didn’t properly plan for what would happen once the cameras stopped rolling.
“When it’s over, it’s over,” she stated. “There’s no residual income. There’s nothing coming your way. There’s nobody knocking on your door. It’s the f**k over.”
Faust explained that many reality stars get caught up in the attention and opportunities that come with being on television, but those moments can be temporary if they aren’t leveraged into long-term business moves.
Looking back, she says she wishes she had been more strategic about setting herself up financially for the future.
Mimi also admitted she was so “engulfed in the current” during her time on reality TV that she didn’t think enough about her eventual exit from the spotlight.
Would you ever do reality television?
