Alabama Woman Mauled By 3 Pit Bulls While Walking To Work, Police Warned About Dogs Hours Before V!olent Attack
Scary news! A woman in #Alabama is recovering after being viciously attacked by three dogs while walking to work, and her family says authorities had been warned about the animals earlier that day. According to a #GoFundMe and reports cited by PEOPLE, Sheila Pate was walking in Geneva, Alabama, when three pit bulls suddenly attacked her, leaving her with serious injuries. Her family said the incident has left her facing a long recovery while medical bills continue to pile up.
Pate described the terrifying ordeal, recalling, “I seriously thought I was fixing to d!e,” adding that she prayed, “God, please get these dogs off of me. They’re going to k!ll me.” Her son told a local station that a neighbor had actually reported the dogs hours before that same day. Reportedly, police initially responded to that call but left the area to assist with storm cleanup before the attack occurred.
After the mauling, animal control was reportedly called to pick up the dogs. Authorities say the incident is still under investigation and officials are considering possible charges against the animals’ owners. Pate is now calling for accountability, saying, “The owners should be held accountable. The city should be held accountable. That’s just plain and simple.”
