Steve Harvey Morning Show Co-Host Shirley Strawberry’s Ex-Husband Accused Of Using Marriage In $750K Scam – Faces R*pe & S#xual Battery Charges

The ex-husband of Shirley Strawberry is facing a growing list of serious charges, as prosecutors in Georgia say his alleged crimes stretch far beyond fraud. Authorities have indicted Earnest Williams under the RICO Act, accusing him of orchestrating a years-long scheme that targeted dozens of victims.

According to reports, Williams was first indicted in May 2024 on dozens of fraud-related charges tied to what officials describe as an elaborate scam. Prosecutors allege he posed as a legitimate businessman to gain trust, ultimately defrauding at least 25 victims out of more than $750,000 in cash, vehicles, and other assets.

The case has since escalated. In January 2026, Williams was reindicted and hit with additional charges, including rape and sexual battery. The new allegations significantly raise the stakes as the case moves forward, though details surrounding those specific claims have not been fully outlined publicly.

Prosecutors further claim Williams used his relationship with Strawberry to help carry out the alleged scheme — even going as far as fraudulently marrying her to gain access to potential victims. Authorities also allege he was already married to another woman at the time, adding another layer to the case.

Officials say the alleged criminal activity spanned more than a decade, from 2009 through 2022. One co-defendant, identified as Ericka King, has already pleaded guilty and is expected to testify as the case unfolds.

As it stands, attorneys are now working through whether the newer charges will be combined with the original indictment. No trial date has been set, and Williams has not been convicted of the allegations. The case remains ongoing.
