Megan Thee Stallion Loses Bid To Block Blogger Milagro Gramz From Speaking About Her-Court Says Request Violates Free Speech Protections
A federal judge in Florida has denied Megan Thee Stallion’s request to block blogger Milagro Cooper from making further statements about her, ruling that the proposed restriction would violate free speech protections.
In a 21-page decision, Judge Cecilia Altonaga determined that the injunction sought by the rapper was too broad and legally problematic. The court described the request as “overbroad and a classic example of a prior restraint on speech that triggers First Amendment concern.”
The ruling follows last year’s defamation trial involving Cooper, where Megan alleged ongoing reputational harm. However, the judge concluded that the legal threshold for such a restriction was not met.
According to the order, Megan’s “alleged threatened injury does not outweigh the harm a permanent injunction would inflict” on Cooper, emphasizing that the request “constitutes an impermissible prior restraint…”
The decision means Cooper will not face court-imposed limits on her speech moving forward, marking a significant First Amendment win in the ongoing dispute.
A Miami federal jury previously found online influencer Milagro Gramz (Cooper) liable for defaming and intentionally inflicting emotional distress on Megan Thee Stallion. The December 2025 verdict ordered Gramz to pay approximately $59,000–$75,000 in damages for promoting a deepfake p*rn video and spreading false stories about the artist.
