Monica Gives Self-Defense Advice After Ice Spice Is Attacked At McDonald’s By Random Woman + Reflects On Her Own Fighting Experience, Says She Had No Chorge But To Have Hands
#Monica wants the girls to know how to defend themselves when necessary.
Seemingly reacting to viral surveillance footage of Ice Spice being attacked by an upset fan last week, Monica shared tips with her supporters during a livestream on staying prepared for whatever may come. The R&B singer explained that growing up in her environment, she “had no choice but to have hands.” While Monica made it clear she does not condone fighting, she offered several pointers on self-protection, including never allowing someone to walk up on you or stand over you during an argument.
If you recall, #IceSpice was eating with a friend inside a Hollywood McDonald’s when a woman approached her, pressed her about where she was from, then reached over the table to hit the “Gyatt” artist. While Ice Spice initially remained seated while the woman stood over her, she quickly defended herself once things turned physical. The altercation spilled outside, and the woman later shared her version of events, claiming it began because Ice was mean. Ice’s attorney has since said everything has been reported to the #LAPD and “we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly.”
