Earlier this week, news broke that Samuel Monroe Jr., known for his roles in 90s films such as #ThePlayersClub, #SetItOff, and Menace II Society, was on life support amid a battle with meningitis. In a #Facebook post, his mother later urged fans to be cautious of any links requesting money, stressing that the family has not asked for financial assistance. “Please be aware I’m his mother, who is the gift going too? Please be careful we have not set up any type of GoFundMe account,” she wrote, before noting that they are only asking for prayers.
Today (Apr. 30), she also shared a prayer on her son’s behalf, writing, “Heavenly Father, we approach You with hurting hearts, we bring before You our loved one Sam who is now on life support. We recognize that You are the Divine Healer, and no illness is beyond Your ability to mend.” She added, “We ask for Your comfort, Lord, that You would surround Sam with Your love and remove all pain, illnesses and distress. Strengthen Sam’s heart, Sam’s kidneys, Sam’s mind, Sam’s lungs and restore his energy so he may recover.”
