Amerie Wins Custody Battle In Nasty Divorce – Ex Ordered To Return Her Music Files & Pay $2,298 Monthly In Child Support
Details of Amerie’s divorce from Lenny Nicholson have been revealed.
According to the divorce judgment, obtained by TMZ, Lenny must return an external hard drive containing the 1 Thing singer’s music files, in addition to her TV tracks. While the former couple didn’t own any property or maintain joint bank accounts, Amerie was awarded a 2016 Range Rover and full control of her music businesses. She was also granted primary physical custody of their son, with Lenny receiving parenting time every third weekend, along with $2,298 per month in child support.
#Amerie and Lenny jumped the broom 2011 and separated in April 2024, according to court documents. After she filed for divorce, Lenny — who claimed he served as Amerie’s manager, tour producer, performance director, and business strategist for over 20 years — made a series of accusations, including that she spent $20,000 on cosmetic surgery and only returned to music after abandoning him. He also asked the court to award him $1.75 million in alleged unpaid commissions, $150K in damages for alleged verbal attacks and emotional distress, spousal support, and more.
In the end, the judge found Amerie’s estimated monthly income was $5,735, while Lenny’s income was listed at $10,000 a month.
