Travis Scott Manager Allegedly Coordinated With Hollywood PR Pros To Discredit Accuser

Travis Scott’s camp is being pulled into new allegations involving what The Hollywood Reporter described as Hollywood’s “secret smear machine.”

According to the outlet, court documents appear to show the rapper-entrepreneur’s longtime manager, David Stromberg, coordinating with crisis advisor Melissa Nathan, digital fixer Jed Wallace and others to gather potentially damaging information about an unnamed adversary and direct reporters toward a so-called “ghost platform.”

The redacted June 2024 group chat reportedly became an exhibit in a lawsuit filed by publicist Stephanie Jones, which is tied to the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal battle over It Ends With Us. THR reports that the previously unidentified third party in the chat was Stromberg, who has long managed Scott and runs Cactus Jack.

In the text exchange, Stromberg allegedly called the others his “favorite team” and “the dream team,” while Wallace wrote, “I’ve got the plan for infrastructure,” adding that it would need “the most absolute secure process.” Stromberg also reportedly requested a statement of work and asked for an “all in rate” involving Nathan, Wallace and Hollywood litigator Bryan Freedman.

Nathan, who THR says has long represented Scott, allegedly outlined a “multipart strategy- Legal/Crisis PR/Media/Digital” and discussed using a forensics team to gather intelligence, create an “external campaign” and point “friendly reporters” toward the ghost platform. Jones’ attorneys have accused Nathan and Wallace of running “a clandestine cottage industry” of false smear websites and social media accounts, calling it a “playbook.”

The outlet also reports that Nathan later wrote, “I had Astroworld removed from TMZ,” with Stromberg responding with a heart emoji. THR says Scott and Stromberg did not respond to requests for comment, while Nathan, Wallace and Freedman also did not respond to inquiries about the group chat. Freedman has previously denied misconduct, calling the claims “speculation presented as fact.”
