Tommy & Tariq Are Taking Over New York: Starz Officially Greenlights New ‘Power: Legacy’ Series

Starz is expanding the “Power” universe once again, this time bringing two fan-favorite characters back together for what could be one of the franchise’s most anticipated chapters yet.

Starz has officially greenlit “Power: Legacy,” a new eight-episode series that reunites Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick as they join forces in New York City.

The upcoming series brings back Joseph Sikora and Michael Rainey Jr., who previously headlined “Power Book IV: Force” and “Power Book II: Ghost.” The pair last shared the screen in the finale of “Force,” setting the stage for their next chapter.

Power never dies, and this chapter is our biggest yet,” said executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. “Fans have been waiting to see Tariq and Tommy together, and now they’re taking over New York City. Bringing Joseph and Michael back together is special, they’ve turned these characters into true icons of the ‘Power’ universe.

Starz president Kathryn Busby said the network is responding directly to longtime viewers. “The fans have spoken, and we listened,” she said. “Power doesn’t die, it evolves with its audience.”

Veteran “Power” writer Gary Lennon will serve as showrunner. “I’m thrilled to reunite with Starz to bring this latest chapter of the ‘Power’ Universe to fans,” Lennon said. “It’s going to be electrifying to see if these two men can share the city, the game and the intoxicating drug known as Power.”

The series becomes the fifth spinoff in the blockbuster franchise, which remains one of Starz’s biggest programming successes. According to the network, Season 3 of “Force” drew 9 million multiplatform viewers, highlighting the continued popularity of the expanding “Power” universe.
