Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Cleared In Texas Lawsuits Brought By Former Tony Buzbee Clients
Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Cleared In Texas Lawsuits Brought By Former Tony Buzbee Clients
Jay-Z and Roc Nation have secured a significant legal victory in their ongoing dispute with Texas attorney Tony Buzbee.
According to TMZ, a Texas judge dismissed all claims against Roc Nation in lawsuits brought by two former Buzbee clients, ruling the court lacked jurisdiction over the company. The lawsuits stemmed from allegations that Roc Nation and attorneys associated with Jay-Z’s camp improperly contacted or influenced Buzbee’s former clients amid the fallout surrounding legal battles connected to Sean “Diddy” Combs and later allegations involving Jay-Z.
The legal drama dates back to late 2024, when Buzbee accused Roc Nation and individuals tied to Jay-Z of orchestrating a campaign to recruit former clients to file claims against his law firm. At the time, Roc Nation strongly denied the allegations, calling the lawsuits a distraction and insisting the claims lacked merit.
With the latest ruling, the claims against Roc Nation have been thrown out, marking a major win for Jay-Z’s company. TMZ reports the judge’s decision was based on jurisdictional grounds, meaning the court determined it did not have the authority to hear the claims against the company.
The ruling is the latest chapter in a years-long legal back-and-forth involving Jay-Z, Buzbee, and several related lawsuits. While the claims against Roc Nation have now been dismissed, other legal disputes connected to the parties continue to play out in court.
