Businesswoman Emma Grede Says She’s ‘Aware’ Of Her Privilege But Insists Her Success Came From Hard Work-Not A Man Or Her
White Mother
Businesswoman Emma Grede is shutting down the shortcut rumors and making it clear that her success was not handed to her.
In a candid Threads post, the Good American co-founder addressed the narrative that “a man opened the door” for her career, saying people often look for a simpler explanation when women win. Grede said she is not avoiding conversations about privilege, adding, “I own what’s real and accept my privileges,” but she refuses to accept a version of her story that is not true.
In a video shared with the post, Grede also acknowledged that she grew up differently, noting that she has a “white mom.” Still, she made it clear that privilege does not erase the work she put in, saying she worked her butt off to build what she has.
Grede added that people should spend less energy discrediting women and more energy uplifting them.
Is Emma making good points?
