Former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum Arrested In Alabama On Multiple Drug Charges
Former Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum has been arrested in Alabama on multiple dr*g-related charges.
According to jail records first reported by TMZ, the former Tallahassee mayor was taken into custody Thursday night in Daphne, Alabama. He was booked into the Baldwin County Jail on charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dr*g paraphernalia and possession of m@rijuan@. Authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to Gillum’s arrest.
The arrest marks Gillum’s latest legal setback. In 2020, he made headlines after being found in a Miami Beach hotel room where police recovered suspected m3thamphet@mine. Gillum was not charged in that incident, and prosecutors later declined to file charges, citing insufficient evidence linking him to the dr+gs. At the time, Gillum acknowledged he had been drinking but denied using m3thamphet@mine before later entering rehab for alcohol abuse and depression.
Gillum, who narrowly lost Florida’s 2018 gubernatorial race to Ron DeSantis, has not publicly commented on his latest arrest. The Daphne Police Department has also not released further information about the circumstances surrounding the case.
