Tyler Perry Offers To Cover Funeral Expenses For Nolan Wells, Mississippi Teen Who Mysteriously D!ed During Boating Trip, Rev. Al Sharpton Reveals

#TylerPerry is stepping in to support the family of Nolan Wells.

A press conference was held Friday (July 10) in New York City, where Nolan’s parents and family attorney Ben Crump continued their push for answers surrounding the teen’s mysterious de@th. “This is not how I wanted the world to meet my son,” Nolan’s mother, Christine Wells-Wonsley, said. “Nolan was – is – the kindest soul, he never met a stranger. He loved everybody. He just wanted everyone to be in peace with one another.”

Civil rights activist Rev. #AlSharpton was in attendance as well, saying, “We’re not bringing in race, but we’re not discounting race either.” He also revealed that media mogul Perry has offered to cover Nolan’s funeral expenses. As previously reported, the 18-year-old football player never made it home after an Independence Day trip to #HornIsland, off the coast of Mississippi, with friends.

Authorities suspect #NolanWells drowned and have said they do not currently believe foul play was involved. Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter claimed Nolan’s friends left the island without him because “he chose to stay there.” However, several unanswered questions — including why Nolan’s phone was reportedly taken and later returned to his mother with deleted messages after being tracked down — have fueled calls for more answers. Crump previously announced that the family is moving forward with an independent autopsy as investigators continue working to determine what happened. The case remains open.
