Meagan Good Admits She Was ‘Mad At God’ When Marriage To DeVon Franklin Failed, But Now Sees It As The ‘Biggest Blessing’
Hindsight is really 20/20.
#MeaganGood is looking back on her divorce from #DeVonFranklin with gratitude rather than regret. Speaking on Danielle Brooks’ The Innermission Podcast, Meagan called the split “the biggest blessing for both of us,” adding that it ultimately benefited DeVon’s now-wife, Maria Castillo, as well as her own husband, actor Jonathan Majors, whom she married in 2025. Things are all good now, but Meagan admitted the breakup initially left her feeling betrayed and questioning her faith. “At the time, I was so mad at God, and I was so confused. And I was like, ‘Well, Lord, you told me to marry this person, and you knew that my worst fear was to get a divorce [after] 10 years just like my mom and dad did,’” Meagan explained. She continued, describing a year of therapy and emotional processing before she came to accept that the marriage had run its course.
Meagan and DeVon tied the knot in 2012 and announced their split in 2021. Their divorce was finalized in 2022. During her interview, she added, “Everything that I needed to get from that, I got from that. Everything I needed to give to that, I gave to that. And we’re both better because of it. I think I know I’m a better wife because of that experience.” DeVon has also spoken positively about Meagan following their divorce, including a previous podcast segment where he said he has “nothing but love” for his ex-wife.
