Drake Loses $1.5 Million After Betting On Argentina To Beat Spain In World Cup Final
The “Drake curse” conversation is heating up again after the rapper lost a massive bet on the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
Drake reportedly wagered $1.5 million on Argentina to defeat Spain in regulation time. Had Lionel Messi and Argentina pulled off the victory, the bet would have reportedly paid out more than $5.1 million.
However, Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time, with Ferran Torres scoring the match’s only goal in the 106th minute. The victory earned Spain its second World Cup title and left Drake without a payout.
Before the match, Drake shared his betting slip online and wrote:
“What’s that saying??? Better luck next time…say less.”
Following Argentina’s loss, social media users quickly revived jokes about the so-called “Drake curse,” a long-running online theory that athletes and teams publicly supported by the Toronto rapper are more likely to lose.
