Mike Tyson Says His Mother Gave Him M@rijuana & Alcohol At Just 10-Years-Old
Mike Tyson is opening up about his childhood, revealing he was introduced to m@rijuana and alcohol at a very young age by his own mother.
During a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, the boxing legend shared that he began using m@rijuana when he was just 10 years old. Tyson explained that his mother, whom he described as an alcoholic, would sometimes give him liquor and m@rijuana to help him sleep.
“Since I was 10 years old. You know when you’re a kid, your mother gives you liquor and m@rijuana to make you think you’re gonna go to sleep or something. My mother was an alcoholic and stuff.”
Tyson also spoke candidly about how cannabis has affected his life as an adult, saying he feels it helps regulate his mood and allows him to function at his best.
“If I didn’t have it, I’d have a bad day. I’m a really moody guy without it. It smooths me out. I think I’m a whole different person. I’m really on top of my game.”
The former heavyweight champion went on to explain that m@rijuana has become a major part of his daily life, admitting he doesn’t always like who he is without it.
“I like who I am when I smoke. When I’m without weed, I don’t sometimes like who I am. That’s the real thing. I don’t like that guy. I want to get away from that guy.”
Tyson has been open in recent years about his cannabis use, even launching a legal cannabis business after retiring from boxing. His latest comments offer another glimpse into the difficult circumstances he says shaped his childhood and his relationship with m@rijuana.
