NBA Hall Of Famer Paul Pierce Fights Ex’s Request For Nearly $30K A Month In Child Support
NBA Hall Of Famer Paul Pierce Fights Ex’s Request For Nearly $30K A Month In Child Support
Paul Pierce is asking a court to reject his ex’s request for nearly $30,000 a month in child support, arguing that his financial situation has changed significantly since retiring from the NBA.
According to TMZ, Pierce is opposing Princess Santiago’s request for $29,811 per month in child support, along with $100,000 in attorney’s fees. The filing is part of the ongoing paternity case involving the couple’s infant son, King Rafael Santiago Pierce. Pierce previously acknowledged he is the child’s biological father and has requested joint legal and physical custody.
In his latest court filing, Pierce reportedly argues that while he earned more than $200 million during his NBA career, he no longer makes that level of income. The Hall of Famer said his employment with FS1 ended in 2021 and that payments he continues to receive from the network will stop in September 2026, reducing his income by nearly half. He also noted that he earned approximately $1.5 million in 2025 and has ongoing financial obligations, including supporting four other children, paying $20,000 per month in spousal support and an additional $24,000 per month in child support.
Santiago initially sought nearly $30,000 in monthly child support, sole legal and physical custody of their son, and reimbursement for pregnancy-related expenses before Pierce admitted paternity and petitioned the court for joint custody. The child support dispute remains ongoing.
