Ariana Grande Stepping Back From Public Life Amid Ongoing Public Scrutiny, Rep Says
Ariana Grande is planning to step away from the spotlight after wrapping her Eternal Sunshine Tour, with her representative citing years of intense public scrutiny as the reason behind the decision.
According to the singer’s rep, Grande “will be taking a step back from visibility” once the tour concludes on Sept. 1. The statement added that she’s looking forward to finishing the tour “on a high note, both healthily and happily,” before taking a “much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
As part of that break, Grande has also withdrawn from the upcoming London revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George, where she was previously set to star alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.
The announcement comes just days after the release of Grande’s “Petal” music video, which sparked renewed online discussion about her appearance and well-being. While fans have expressed concern, a source close to the singer told People that Grande is healthy and capable of performing the physically demanding tour each night.
