Oprah & Stedman Graham Make First Public Appearance Together In Nearly 7 Years

Oprah Winfrey and her longtime partner Stedman Graham are stepping out together for a rare public appearance.

The longtime couple recently attended a reunion celebrating The Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago, marking their first public appearance together in nearly seven years. Their last reported joint public outing was at the grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta in October 2019.

Oprah and Stedman joined former staffers from her legendary daytime talk show at chef Art Smith’s Reunion restaurant at Navy Pier. The gathering comes ahead of the 40th anniversary of The Oprah Winfrey Show, which nationally debuted in September 1986 and ended its 25-season run in 2011.

The celebration also coincides with a major milestone in Oprah’s personal life. She and Stedman have been together since 1986, meaning the famously private couple is also celebrating 40 years together this year.

The two became engaged in the early ‘90s but ultimately decided against marriage. Oprah has previously explained that while she wanted to know Stedman wanted to marry her, she realized the traditional expectations of marriage weren’t what she wanted for their relationship.

Despite keeping much of their relationship away from the public eye, the two have remained together for four decades. Stedman has previously credited their longevity in part to each of them maintaining their own happiness and identities while supporting one another.
