Two Atlanta sisters are safe after police found them Monday with babysitter Lakesha Brown, ending a search that began after she allegedly failed to return them from a Saturday outing.
Their mother, Elicia Redding, met Brown in a Facebook mothers group. “I trusted her, but she broke that trust,” she said to WSB-TV. Redding recalled, “She came over on Saturday and she asked me if she could take the kids out for a day out and I told her, ‘Yeah, she could.’

When Brown did not return, Redding said Brown claimed a crash delayed them.

She says they were at a standstill on 285 and semi truck had hit them,” Redding said. “When I called all the children’s hospitals and adult hospitals, they weren’t in the system.

Redding texted, “WHERE ARE MY KIDS?????” and later, “Please give me my kids back.”

Police traced Brown to Sylvan Road. “They heard the sounds of a baby crying,” Lt. Christapher Butler said. Officers found both girls safe.

Brown was accused of kidnapping a 4-day-old baby in Alabama in 2021.

Redding said, “I feel like she was just plotting to take my kids the whole time.

Thank goodness these babies were returned safely.
