Popular Egyptian TV Presenter Sentenced To De@th By Hanging For Allegedly Being Involved In Dr*g Trafficking Ring

Sarah Khalifa, the 39-year-old former host of the Egyptian crime show “Mission Impossible,” was sentenced to de@th by hanging in Cairo after a court convicted her of helping run an organized dr*g trafficking operation. She and 11 co-defendants received de@th sentences after prosecutors accused the group of importing raw materials used to make synthetic dr*gs and stashing the finished product inside residential homes; authorities say the broader case involved 28 defendants and led to the seizure of more than 1,600 pounds of narcotics along with unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Khalifa broke down in court as the sentence was read, pleading her innocence and denying any involvement with dr*gs, reportedly telling investigators she’d never even smoked a cigarette. Nine other defendants were sentenced to life in prison, while seven were acquitted. Khalifa, who also ran a cosmetic surgery clinic and an event-planning business, was arrested in 2025. Egypt’s grand mufti was consulted before the sentence was handed down, a mandatory step in the country’s capital cases. Under Egypt law, #SarahKhalifa is allowed to appeal the sentence.
