T-Pain Sues Akon’s Record Label, Claims He’s Owed Almost $500,000 In Unpaid Royalties

T-Pain is taking #Akon’s Konvict Entertainment to court once again … this time claiming the label is sitting on nearly $500,000 in unpaid royalties.

According to a lawsuit filed in Fulton County Superior Court, T-Pain says Konvict received more than $1.3 million from a distributor in March for music sales generated during the second half of 2025. Under his agreements with the label, the rapper says he’s entitled to 75% of Konvict’s net royalties from his record sales.

T-Pain claims Konvict paid him $489,047 in June but still owes him another $489,047. He says the label directed him to collect the remaining cash from its affiliate, BuVision, but efforts by his reps to secure the payment went nowhere. This marks #TPain’s second lawsuit against Konvict over alleged unpaid royalties — his first case, filed in 2018, was settled in 2025, with Konvict agreeing to pay him $114,000 without admitting liability.
