Gospel Star Erica Campbell’s Label Sues Music Distributor For Over $1 Million- Kenny Lattimore Says He Sees A ‘Pattern’ After Filing His Own Similar Lawsuit

Erica Campbell’s label is taking SRG/ILS Group to court over alleged unpaid royalties, and Kenny Lattimore is backing the fight after filing a similar lawsuit earlier this year.

My Block Records, founded by Campbell’s husband Warryn Campbell, sued SRG, alleging the distributor failed to provide royalty statements during their 2021-to-2024 agreement.

Billboard first reported the lawsuit.

“Block’s album releases Brand New, Four Walls, and I Love You sold over 113 million streams between 2022-2024 and generated over $1 million [in] sales,” the filing states. “SRG has never provided Block a royalty statement.”

My Block is seeking more than $1 million in damages. SRG denies wrongdoing, saying it made “repeated efforts” to address royalty accounting and payments.

Lattimore reshared Billboard’s coverage of Campbell’s lawsuit on Threads with a message of support.

“People lie, but patterns don’t. Now there is a second lawsuit from another veteran artist raising concerns strikingly similar to those in the lawsuit I filed against SRG earlier this year. There is a pattern here. I’ve also heard from several artists who have shared troublingly similar experiences but have not taken legal action. It’s time for SRG/ILS to do the right thing – and for transparency, accountability, and a better path for artists now and those who come after us.”

Lattimore sued SRG in February, alleging he received one $4,400 royalty check for his 2021 album Here to Stay. He claims the project, which produced the No. 1 R&B single “Take a Dose,” should have earned him more than $100,000. SRG has denied his claims.
