Jhené Aiko Earns First No. 1 Album Of Her Career As ‘Westside Whimsy’ Tops Billboard 200

Jhené Aiko has officially reached a major career milestone.

The R&B singer’s new album, Westside Whimsy, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the first chart-topping album of her career. The project earned 74,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. during the week ending Sept. 17, according to Luminate.

The accomplishment comes nearly 13 years after Aiko first entered the Billboard 200 with her 2013 project Sail Out, which peaked at No. 8. Westside Whimsy also becomes her sixth Top 10 project. Her previous career high was Chilombo, which reached No. 2 in 2020.

Released Sept. 11 after being announced just three days earlier, Westside Whimsy features collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Larry June, Tyga and Ohma. The album is also the first R&B project by a woman to top the Billboard 200 in 2026 and the first since SZA’s SOS returned to No. 1 in May 2025.
