Octavia Spencer Speaks Out After Her Prime Video Series “Ride Or Die” Gets The Axe After One Season: This Was A Fun One!’

#OctaviaSpencer is saying goodbye to “Ride or Die” after Prime Video pulled the plug on the action-comedy after just one season.

The eight-episode series, created by Tessa Coates, starred Spencer and Hannah Waddingham as longtime besties Debbie and Judith, whose lives are flipped upside down when Debbie discovers Judith is secretly an international assassin. The show debuted in July and climbed to No. 1 on #PrimeVideo’s U.S. rankings, but it won’t be getting a second season on the streamer — though Paramount Television Studios is reportedly shopping it elsewhere.

Spencer kept her farewell positive, thanking the team behind the series and the women who connected with Debbie and Judith, writing in part, “Projects like this shouldn’t be the exception, they should be rule!” She wrapped things up with, “For all the women out there who felt seen, laughed out loud, lived out loud with Debbie and Judith, thank you. This was a fun one! Thank you Tessa Coates!”
