Lonzo Ball Shuts Down Retirement Chatter, Says He’s Still Waiting On An NBA Call

#LonzoBall is making one thing clear: he hasn’t called it a career just yet.

After a podcast conversation sparked speculation that the 28-year-old was retiring from the NBA, Ball hopped on X to shut that chatter down, writing, “I retired? News to me lol cuz I’m still waiting for a call… NBA season long ” The confusion came after Ball reflected on giving basketball his all while admitting chronic knee injuries kept him from reaching his full potential, saying during the viral clip, “I don’t think I ever got to my peak, and d*mn, that sh*t sucks, but at the same time there’s people that don’t have meals at night to eat. That’s how I look at the world.”

Ball missed the entire 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons due to knee injuries and has played for the #Lakers, Pelicans, #Bulls and Cavaliers during his NBA career. However, judging by his latest post, he’s still waiting to see if another opportunity comes calling.
