Model & Recording Artist Shaun Ross Calls Out L.A. Party Scene: ‘It’s Always A Meet & Greet’

Shaun Ross has some thoughts about the Los Angeles party scene — and he says there’s way too much talking and not enough dancing.

The model, musician and DJ recently shared his frustration with nightlife in the city, questioning why so many L.A. parties feel more like networking events than actual parties. “Why is LA such a conversation city?” Ross asked. “It’s always a meet and greet. It’s always a conversation piece, and then people get lit to, like, the last thirty minutes.”

Ross, who said he has lived in Los Angeles for roughly 14 years, also described the city as “very, very cliquey,” claiming he often sees the same groups of people at the same places. “We do the same side hug and kiss every time,” he said, adding that as he’s gotten older, he’s noticed clubs increasingly becoming places where people mostly stand around and socialize instead of letting loose.

“Not enough dancing, not enough getting crazy, not enough, you know, unfilteredness,” Ross continued. “People are just talking.” He ultimately summed up his feelings about L.A. nightlife by saying, “Everyone just stands around with a drink in their hand and talk. Like, it’s so boring. It’s just so boring.”

Ross has previously spoken about changes in Los Angeles nightlife. In a 2025 interview, he recalled L.A. being “booming” when he first moved there and contrasted the current scene with the more spontaneous nightlife he remembers from years earlier. **if you live in LA, do you agree or disagree?**
