Diddy’s Former Legal Team Now Representing Cornell Fraternity Member Accused In Alleged G@ng R@pe Case
A member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former legal team is now involved in the high-profile Cornell University alleged g@ng r@pe case.
According to TMZ, the Agnifilo law firm, which represented Diddy during his federal cr*minal case, has been retained to represent one of the former Chi Phi fraternity members accused in the civil lawsuit filed by a former Cornell student identified as Jane Doe. Attorney Teny Geragos is reportedly handling the case for the firm. Geragos was also part of Diddy’s defense team.
Reportedly, the defense is focusing in part on statements Jane Doe allegedly made during the original investigation indicating that the s*xual activity was consensual. That issue has become a major point of dispute in the case. Jane Doe alleges in her lawsuit that she was dr•gged and s3xually a$$aulted by multiple fraternity members in October 2024. No criminal charges have been filed against the accused men.
The latest development comes just days after New York Attorney General Letitia James, the first Black woman elected to the position, was appointed special prosecutor by Gov. Kathy Hochul to oversee the criminal investigation. James now has the authority to investigate the allegations and, if warranted, present evidence to a grand jury.
The case continues to generate national attention and backlash over Cornell’s handling of the allegations. On Monday (Oct. 5), students gathered for a large campus protest demanding accountability and greater support for sexual assault survivors. Cornell has also agreed to an independent review of how the university responded to the case.
