New York Woman Arrested In Connection w/ 2022 De@th Of Woman Dropped Off At Hospital Without Pants & Multiple Injection Marks On Her Buttocks

A #NewYork woman is facing charges more than four years after a Connecticut woman d!ed following an alleged botched butt enhancement procedure.

According to the #NYPD, 47-year-old Alica Leslie, of Mount Vernon, was arrested Friday and charged with criminally negligent homicide and unauthorized practice of a profession in connection with the February 2022 de@th of Maxine Messam, of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Authorities say Messam was dropped off unresponsive at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in the Bronx by two women just before 2 a.m. on February 15, 2022. She was reportedly missing her pants and had multiple injection marks on her buttocks. Messam was pronounced de@d at the hospital.

Investigators began looking into whether Messam had undergone an illegal butt lift that went wrong. Prosecutors allege Leslie injected a silicone substance into Messam’s buttocks to enhance their appearance, despite not having a medical or cosmetic surgery license.

Loved ones of Messam said she was someone who “lit the room with her presence,” and they’re heartbroken by the circumstances surrounding her passing.
