Chris Brown Appears In Good Spirits, Gives Fans Thumbs-Up After Avoiding Prison Time In London A$$ault Case Involving Bottle Attack On Music Producer

#ChrisBrown has avoided prison time after pleading guilty to a nightclub altercation in London that left a music producer injured.

On Monday, the 37-year-old was handed an eight-month suspended sentence, meaning he won’t serve time behind bars unless he violates the terms of his sentence within the next year. Chris, who faced up to three years in prison, pleaded guilty to affray in July after striking music producer Abraham Diaw twice in the head with a tequila bottle at Tape nightclub in February 2023. Surveillance footage shown in court captured CB being pulled away from Diaw following the attack.

While the judge called the incident dangerous, he cited CB’s guilty plea and several mitigating factors in deciding against prison time. As reported, Chris was arrested at a Manchester hotel in May 2025 after returning to the U.K. for a concert. He was later released on £5 million ($6.7 million) bail, allowing him to continue touring. The case adds to the singer’s history of legal troubles. Chris appears pleased with the outcome, however, taking to #Instagram to give supporters a thumbs-up after his sentence was announced.
