NBA Star Anthony Edwards Fears Baby Mama Will Gamble Away His $14K Monthly Child Support Payments, Asks Judge To Intervene – She Fires Back & Claims He’s Never Met Their Child

#AnthonyEdwards is raising concerns about how his child support payments are being spent.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the #MinnesotaTimberwolves star fears his ex, Alexandria Desroches, could blow the $14,000 he pays monthly for their son, Amir, on online sports betting. Edwards claims Desroches admitted to placing bets on DraftKings dozens of times a month in 2025, despite arguing that his child support payments weren’t enough. He also accuses her of failing to disclose income from a second job, including cash tips, and exaggerating their son’s expenses. Now, he’s asking a judge to place a portion of his payments into a trust, with a trustee overseeing how the money is distributed.

However, Desroches isn’t backing down from sharing her side of things. She acknowledged gambling on DraftKings but insisted her bets were typically around $10 and “placed out of boredom,” adding that she’s since stopped using the platform. She also claims her records show a net total of $998.20 in #DraftKings activity for 2025. Pushing back against Edwards’ request, Desroches pointed to his alleged lack of involvement in their son’s life, claiming the #NBA star has never met Amir in person, hasn’t sought parenting time, and may not have even sent him a gift.

A judge has yet to rule in the matter.
