Meagan Good Says A Conversation With God Convinced Her To Stay In Hollywood
Actress Meagan Good maybe one of Hollywood’s most well known black actresses, but what many don’t know is how he spiritual side influenced her career, years before she became an A list actress. In a recent interview, the 31-year-old California native revealed that she pursued acting full-time because of a conversation with God. She explained:
When I got about 19, I had a conversation with God and I was like ‘Is this what you want me to do, because if this is what you want me to do then I believe I’m going to make it.’
She continued:
I grew up in Canyon Country, California. It’s kind of small townish, 30 to 40 minutes outside of Hollywood. And it was like, ‘Oh you’re not pretty enough, you’re not tall enough, you’re not light enough, you’re not dark enough, you’re not talented enough’. All of those things. I try to share a lot of what my personal experience has been…Definitely I’ve seen the ups and downs and I’ve been through a lot. For me to be able to be where I am now I know it’s because of God.
In June 2012, Meagan married Hollywood executive and preacher DeVon Franklin. Good and her hubby have been known to spread the word via her Instagram and Twitter pages. Good is currently filming sequels ‘Anchorman 2’ and ‘Think Like A Man 2.’ Her NBC series, ‘Deception’ co-starring Laz Alonso was canceled last month.
