[Photos] Thousands March on Washington, Celebrating 50th Anniversary + Trayvon Martin’s Family, Mayor Cory Booker & Other Celebs Spotted
Tens of thousands of people gathered in the Nation’s capital, marching to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and down the National Mall on Saturday, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s famous speech.
The event was an homage to a generation of racism, police abuse and activism, all to demand equal rights to African Americans. A number of political notables spoke and attended the march including: Rev. Al Sharpton, Nancy Pelosi, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker, the mother and father of Trayvon Martin, Dr. Martin Luther King III, Eleanor Holmes Norton, DC Mayor Vincent Gray, Congressman John Lewis, Tom Joyner, Jesse Jackson and Omarosa.
