‘Single Ladies’ Will Return! Series Moves to CENTRIC
Fans were bummed when they heard that VH1’s ‘Single Ladies’ had been cancelled. After three seasons, the show starring LisaRaye McCoy as Keisha Green, Charity Shea as April Goldberg and Denise Vasi as Raquel Lancaster, would not return for a fourth season.
Created by Stacy A. Littlejohn and produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment, the series chronicles the lives of three friends — Raquel, Keisha and April — and their relationships. Last month, when news hit about the show’s cancellation, leading lady LisaRaye wrote:
All things come to an end. It has truly been a intersting journey for me. Unfortunately that journey has come to an end. Over the past 3 years being apart of a show that showcased the beauty of friendships, the power of loyalty, some amazing trendsetting fashions and steamy romance. It Was really great to give voice and life to every day situations that we as women face doing so in such a positive relatable Manor is what made single ladies so great. To all of my fans I want to thank you for your continued support we wouldn’t have made it this far without all of you. Of course this will not be the end of Lisa Raye please stay tuned for upcoming projects I send peace and blessings to my cast mates for their upcoming endeavors as well. Fast forward to the present day and there’s good news! Centric has ordered a fourth season, as part of a larger content development pact with Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment. Centric will also carry repeats of the Queen Latifah Show. BET Networks chairman-CEO Debra Lee shared in a statement:
We are thrilled to be working once again with Flavor Unit Entertainment and Queen Latifah. She does it all and we are happy to have her join us as a creative force as we continue to grow Centric into a premiere destination for African American women.
The “Single Ladies” pickup was announced during Centric’s portion of BET Networks’ upfront presentation announcement in LA. No word on if the entire cast will return for the next season. P.S. Are you glad to see the show return?
