“The Real” Tops New & Returning Talk Shows “Meredith” and “Queen Latifah” Across All Female Demos
Good ‘numbers news’ for ‘The Real‘. The syndicated talk show — with co-hosts Tamar Braxton, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon — is the top-rated new strip across all female demographics, according to national Nielsen syndication data officially released today for the week of September 15. According to the network’s press release,
The series earned 0.8 among W18-34, W18-49 and W25-54 easily beating other debut entries into the marketplace, “Meredith” (by +166% in W18-34; +100% in W18-49 and +33% in W25-54) and “Hot Bench” (+100% with W18-34; +33% with W18-49 and +14% with W25-54) and second-year series “Queen Latifah” (+300% among W18-34, +100% with W18-49 and +33% with W25-54).
“The Real” also toped “Meredith” for the week September 15 (“The Real’s week one vs “Meredith’s” week two) by +166% in W18-34; +100% in W18-49 and +60% in W25-54.
“The Real’s” 0.8 among W18-34 was also strong enough to earn it the third spot among all talkers behind only “Maury” (1.1 with W18-34) and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” (0.9 with W18-49) and tied with “Dr. Phil” (which also earned a 0.8 with W18-34).
The show debuted Monday, September 15, 2014, on Fox Television Stations and in national syndication with a rebroadcast in primetime on cable network BET.
In its premiere week, guests included rapper The Game, Jennie Garth (HGTV’S “The Jennie Garth Project”), Ray J (singer and star of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood”), Laurence Fishburne (ABC’s “Black-ish”) and others.
