BET’s 106 & Park Officially Says Farewell + See Our Favorite Photos!
BET has officially closed the chapter to its popular music show, 106 & Park. On Friday, December 19th, the network aired a two-hour finale, saying farewell after 14 years.
During the farewell celebration, “106 Final Act,” past “106 & PARK” hosts including original hosts AJ and Free (2000 – 2005), Big Tigger and Julissa (2005 – 2006), Terrence J. and Rocsi (2006 – 2012), and The Search hosts: Miss Mykie, Paigion and Shorty da Prince (2012 – 2013), joined current hosts Shad Moss (formerly Bow Wow) and Keshia Chanté (2013 – 2014) for the final airing of “106 & PARK,” which featured performances from Fabolous and Ne-Yo.
The hosts recapped the Hollywood stars that appeared throughout the years, Freestyle Friday, the show’s popular Freestyle rap battle, and reintroduced some of the artists that got their big break from appearing on the show.
The show has been a staple in pop culture for over a decade, as it established itself as the stage where stars — many who were African American — were made.
