[INTERVIEW] Tameka Raymond Talks Usher’s Engagement, Rumored Sex Tape & Crushing On Idris Elba

theJasmineBRAND: Are you dating? 

Tameka Raymond: Umm single. I’m not married. I like being single. I do wish I had more of a significant person I can tell my deep, dark like hey today was a bad day, but I like being single. I think there is a control factor in being in serious relationships and I think I intimidate men.

theJasmineBRAND: I can see that. 

Tameka Raymond: I have a strong personality and I’m a lot. My brain is super quick and a lot of men can’t keep up.

theJasmineBRAND: Would you date another man in the industry?

Tameka Raymond: No I’m cool on that. Been there done that. I’d probably kiss a couple though.

theJasmineBRAND: Who would we kiss if the opportunity presented itself?

Tameka Raymond: I would kiss Idris [Elba].

theJasmineBRAND: Women love him.

Tameka Raymond: You know what I don’t even know if our love is the same. I don’t think nobody loves him like I do.

theJasmineBRAND: Were you surprised or did you already know he got engaged… well was going down the engagement aisle?

Tameka Raymond: Definitely surprised. When I heard I was definitely surprised, but I am very happy for him. Yeah he needs to be happy and have a good situation and be in a great mindset. You know he’s the father of my children. So I want him to be in the best positive situation for him.

theJasmineBRAND: A few months ago there was this sex tape that never came out. Were you supposed to be in it? What was that all about? How do you handle things like that?

Tameka Raymond: I have a teenage son and I have an adult son I don’t want it to affect them. My son is in college. My other son is in high school. That concerns me I don’t want their mother on all fours what the hell… The rest I’m grown I was married. I don’t recall consenting to a tape of such but you know.

theJasmineBRAND: So tell me about your book.

Tameka Raymond: My book. It’s a humorous style guide called, White Bras and 101 Style Phobias.

theJasmineBRAND: What is your biggest fashion pet peeve?

Tameka Raymond: I’m really not into this flooding trend in men.

theJasmineBRAND: What is the most annoying interview question?

Tameka Raymond: It’s usually something to do with my ex-husband because there is life before and after him.

theJasmineBRAND: What is your biggest fear?

Tameka Raymond: Not realizing my dreams.

theJasmineBRAND: What inspires you most?

Tameka Raymond: My children
