Whoopi Goldberg &Raven Symone Won’t Turn on Bill Cosby Just Yet [VIDEO]
Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have been very vocal about their support for Bill Cosby – that is, until this week.
In the wake of more than two dozen women’s accusations regarding the comedian’s sexual misconduct, court documents from a 2005 deposition revealed Monday the 77-year-old admitted to giving Quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with. Since then, celebs, like Jill Scott, have taken to social media to chastise Cosby, and episodes of “The Bill Cosby Show,” have been stripped from networks.
Still, Whoopi Goldberg and Raven Symone are among many who are reluctant to believe the hype. On Tuesday’s edition of ABC’s “The View,” the two co-hosts touched on why they were hasty to jump to any conclusions about the court documents and allegations.
Whoopi, more bluntly pulling from her own knowledge of Quaaludes and experiences with defaming scandal. She got a little feisty with her co-hosts Nicole Wallace, who said she always felt Cosby was guilty.
Whoopi on why she said she won’t condemn Cosby until there was solid proof:
Well, the ‘80s were… [laughs] Well, they weren’t fun for everybody clearly. But I think it’s again, we’ll see what happens. As more information comes out, people can make judgments. I’m not. I don’t like snap judgments because I’ve had snap judgments made on me. So I’m very, very careful. Save your texts, save your nasty comments. I don’t care….I say this because this is my opinion, and in America, still, I know it’s a shock, but you actually where innocent until proven guilty. He has not been proven a rapist.
