On December 20th, the 6th Annual Pink in December event took place in Atlanta at the Cynthia Bailey Agency and was hosted by publicist April Love, who is a six year cancer survivor. Industry insiders, agency friends and breast cancer survivors came together to celebrate life, strength and survival of those impacted by the disease.
The evening included moments of inspiration as survivors such as Dr. Chyna Bethley and Pink Topps Founder Raque’l Smith provided their testimonies of triumph as well as addressed topics such as the importance of early detection and myths associated with breast cancer.
A large portion of the Pink in December proceeds were dedicated towards two in-treatment breast cancer survivors, both of whom were in attendance. Master Stylist Pennae of Salon Penna’e and Manicurist Felicia Otero also sponsored make-up and spa manicure sessions for them prior to the event.
The PINK Awards, which were hosted by Radio Veteran & Breast Cancer Survivor Ebony Steele and Lifestyle Specialist Satchel Jester, were incorporated as a way to celebrate and honor the accomplishments of those who have exemplified leadership, service, and innovation in both their professional and personal lives. Executive Producer & CEO of Sunseeker Media Bart Phillips (PINK Visionary), Serial Entrepreneur & TV Personality Maja Sly (PINK Entrepreneur), The Gentlemen’s Foundation Founders Juan & Gee Session-Smalls (PINK Samaritans), and CEO & Founder of Kingdom Reign Entertainment Carlos King (PINK Game Changer) were all awarded for enhancing the trajectory of their respective fields. Special guests included Cutting It in the ATL’s Beautii J and Lakenya Morris as well as Selling It in the ATL’s Jae Christian, Sarah Lowe, and Chrisena Stanley. Check out the photos!
