‘Creed’ Director Defends Sylvester Stallone’s Golden Globes Snub
“Creed” director Ryan Coogler says that Sylvester Stallone’s Golden Globes snub was an honest mistake. As previously reported, during Stallone’s Golden Globes speech for best supporting actor for his role in “Creed”, he forgot to thank Coogler (who directed the film) and Michael B. Jordan (the star of the film). Coogler believes that Stallone was emotionally overwhelmed by the standing ovation he received, adding:
I was there and I know how Sly feels about us.
Stallone apologized during commercial break and also took to Twitter noting his mistake and saying he understood the criticism that he received from Samuel L. Jackson.
Samuel Jackson is upset that I foolishly forgot to mention the brilliant Ryan Coogler and MB Jordan he is right I owe them everything

Coogler adds:
He rushed back and basically stopped the music and told the whole band to stop and went on and on about us to the point where it was uncomfortable. I love the guy and definitely don’t think it was intentional at all. He has already thanked us so much. Sly is an awesome dude.
