NBA’s Dwight Howard Caught Illegally Using Stickum: ‘I do it every game’ [VIDEO]
NBA’s Dwight Howard is in trouble for using a sticky substance, called stickum, during a game Saturday night against the Atlanta Hawks. The 30-year-old Houston Rockets center reportedly, applied stickum from a spray can and grabbed the ball before a free-throw attempt by Paul Millsap during the first quarter.
Here’s footage.
Millsap says he noticed that the ball felt differently and told officials. Officials then warned both teams that stickum is illegal in the NBA and replaced the ball. Millsap told the AJC,
I’ve never felt the ball like that ever. It was sticky. It was like super glue or something was on there. I couldn’t get it off my hands. It was the weirdest thing ever.
Howard has addressed the controversy telling the Houston Chronicle,
I don’t know why people are making a big deal out of it. I do it every game. It’s not a big deal. I ain’t tripping.
The situation is now being reviewed by the NBA.
