Oprah Winfrey Says Weight Watchers Was An Intervention
Oprah Winfrey, who is by far one of the most influential women in America, has been transparent about her struggle with her weight. From television networks and magazines, to her pivotal roles in movies such as “The Color Purple” and Lee Daniels “The Butler”; Oprah has dominated the entertainment industry for over 30 years but has admitted that losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight has been an ongoing challenge.
It’s been close to 6 months since the 62-year-old mogul teamed up with Weight Watchers and in a recent interview with People, she share a few details about her journey.
On her past weight loss struggles:
I wanted to be thin. I wasted so much energy, energy and time wanting my thighs to be thin, for my arms not to flap. I had the success and the money but I was still wanting something different than I had.
On finding excuses not to work out after spraining her ankle in Maui:
Jesus did not want me to workout, so I put my leg up and ate and drank all the vacation.
On getting the call from Weight Watchers:
It felt like an intervention from on high…if they are calling me, I must need help!
