Cincinnati Gorilla Incident: Police investigating boy’s family [VIDEO]
The family of a boy who entered a Cincinnati Zoo gorilla’s enclosure last weekend — spurring zoo officials to shoot and kill the animal — will be the focus of an investigation into the incident, Cincinnati police said Tuesday, according to CNN.
Michelle Gregg and Deonne Dickerson are the parents of the 3-year-old boy that was dragged across a moat by the 450-pound gorilla on Saturday. After a 10-minute encounter, Cincinnati Zoo officials shot and killed the endangered gorilla, named Harambe. The boy was not seriously injured. Here’s a clip of what happened.
Cincinnati police said their review,
is only regarding the actions of the parents/family that led up to the incident and not related to the operation or safety of the Cincinnati Zoo.
“After the review, we will determine if charges need to be brought forward,” police spokeswoman Tiffaney Hardy said. “If it is determined charges need to be brought forward, we would then discuss it with the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office.” Authorities have said the boy’s mother was with the child at the time he slipped past a fence and tumbled into the moat.

This higher/double standard black people are held to needs to stop.
Black, white,…IDK what color the parents or child was…the gorilla didn’t need to die on account of their neglect. He was in his own home, he did not go out and find that child, that child came to him…so why must he die? He did not ask for that visitor. I don’t think he would have killed the child, he was playing w the child. If he wanted the child dead, he would not have played with it and would have killed it once it landed. #fromablackwoman
#fromblackwoman. Stacey Dash is a black woman too.
I’m sorry but I do think race has something to do with rather or not charges are filed.Ive just seen when it’s a different race considerations are made.Im just so tired of the double standards.
The gorilla died because the zoo (who was responsible for one of their employees losing an arm when a Polar bear got out). Once again failed to keep the public safe. The child shouldn’t have been able to make it into the enclosure. That’s why the USDA is investigating them. A white man in GA ‘s son finds his gun and blows a whole in his chest….. no charges! That’s the racism and higher standard I am referring to. That is neglect and involuntary manslaughter.
I know racism is alive and very active in this country but in this case I’m not so sure it is the case. I don’t think the Cincinnati police had any plans on an investigation or filling charges against the family, the police and zoo was just thankful the boy did not loose his life. It has been the out cry of human rights activist and people who love animals more then humans who have been wailing for blood for the gorilla. I had no idea the boy was black from the video he looked white and this is the first time seeing the parents. I don’t know if most of the people knew the family was black or white they just felt Harambe was unjustly killed and somebody should be held responsible.
